7. Thorpe Park

Thorpe Park is a theme park in Chertsey, Surrey, England. Thorpe Park has frequent buses from Staines. It was built in 1979 on the site of a gravel pit which was partially flooded, creating a water-based theme for the park. Thorpe Park is made up of seven main themed lands, here's an overview of each including all the attractions that you'll find in them.

Amity Cove
This spectacularly themed new england fishing village has just been hit by a giant tidal wave, the wave will soon attack again causing utter devastation, experience it on the amazing Tidal Wave. Spin out of control on Storm Surge, another sky-high water ride, experience the Flying Fish family roller coaster and enjoy Storm in a Teacup. Take a stroll down to the Amity Speedway to ride Europe's tallest and fastest launched roller coaster, Stealth.

Calypso Quay
This is a bright, colourful, carribean quay, there's a great mix of rides here - the jaw dropping 5.5 g-force tower drop of Detonator, plus the great family attraction Time Voyagers and wild water Rumba Rapids. Best of all is Nemesis Inferno, a true white knuckle inverted roller coaster which winds through the volcanic and tropical land.

Canada Creek
An authentically themed Canadian creek complete with a range of attractions offering something for everyone. Whether you like the sound of the thrilling Loggers Leap log flume (the tallest in the UK), the fun of the Rocky Express spinning train ride, or the intense revolving sky swat experience of Slammer, its up to you! There's also the Canada Creek Railway for a fun ride through a dramatic canyon and around a beautiful lake.

Lost City
Step inside a lost civilization packed with intense rides to satisfy even the most demanding thrill seekers. The mystical trio of Vortex, Zodiac and Quantum are just inside the ancient walls. Travel further into the land to climb aboard Rush, the world's largest speed swing and the world's first 'blackwards' rollercoaster X:\ No Way Out. The world record breaking 10 inversion roller coaster Colossus is simply phenomenal plus there's the ultimate stomach churning experience of the mighty Samurai.

Neptune's Kingdom
A fun watery wonderland for the whole family, set around the delights of Neptune's Beach and its pools. There are slides at Wet Wet Wet, a playground of Sea Snakes and Ladders and the main attraction, the racing boats of Depth Charge.

Ranger County
An exotic jungle with family favourites like the swinging Mr Monkeys Banana Ride and the spinning Chief Rangers Carousel along with live shows at the Ranger County Showcase which are not to be missed.

SAW Island
Inspired by the lengendary SAW horror movies, this creepy industrial island features a derilict warehouse and an abandoned paddle boat. At one end of the land lies SAW - The Ride, the world's first horror movie themed roller coaster, with it's dramatic drop beneath huge spinning blades. At the other you'll discover SAW Alive, a year-round live action horror maze, featuring six iconic and fear-inducing scenes from the terrifying films.
